Emily Margaret Chapman, 87, of Winfield, Kan., died Saturday at the Good Samaritan Village in Winfield.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Winfield.
Interment is scheduled to follow in the Hope Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kan. under the direction of Miles Funeral Service.
Chapman was born Feb. 7,1906, in McAlester to Fred Stanwood and Mattie Moore King. She was a 1926 graduate of Checotah High School and received nurses training at St. Johns Hospital School of Nursing in Tulsa, graduating as an R.N. in 1929.
She married Guy Frederick Chapman in Sapulpa Dec. 24, 1930, and resided here until 1942, when they moved to Tulsa. They moved to Arkansas City in 1945. The Chapmans resided in Blackwell from 1951 to 1966 before moving to Washington. They returned to Blackwell in 1975, later moving to Winfield in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985 and son James Chapman.
Survivors include son Ray Chapman of Arkansas City; daughters Sue Wilson of Santa Ana, Calif. and Marian Hinson of Winfield; brother Fred T. King of Seal Beach, Calif.; sister Kenyon Lindsey of Westminster, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
