Melvin E. Chick, 89, Sapulpa died Tuesday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Lee and Walnut Church of Christ with Robin Haley officiating.

Burial is to follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Chick was born May 1, 1905 in Brick, Okla. He had been a Sapulpa resident since 1969, moving here from Bartlesville. He owned and operated the Champion Shoe Shop. He was a member of the Lee and Walnut Church of Christ.

Survivors include wife Noreen of the home, daughter Clara Lue Burtram of Sapulpa, brothers Carl of Oklahoma City, Lester of Ponca City and Calvin of Oregon; sister Irene Cobb of Oklahoma, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Melvin Chick were held at 10:30 a.m. today in the Lee and Walnut Church of Christ with Robin Haley officiating. 

Burial followed in Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Casket bearers were Glenn Zumalt, Vince James, Tom Roininen, C.B. Teel, Lowell Tomberlin and Doug Burris. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
