GENEVA CLAYTON
Geneva Blanche Clayton, 86, of Cassville, passed away Thursday,
Feb. 9, 2006, in Cox Monett Hospital, Monett. She was born in
Oilton, Okla., on Aug. 24, 1919, the daughter of Bill and Grace
(Brock) Ledgerwood.
On June 15, 1940, she was united in
marriage to John W. Clayton, who preceded her in death on Feb.
6, 1977. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two
brothers, Phil and Gene Ledgerwood.
Survivors include: a sister,
Billie Ann Stephens and her husband, Spiz, of Cassville; and a
sister-in-law, Norma Lee Ledgerwood, of Cassville;
She received her education in Oklahoma. In 1938 she moved to
Shell Knob, and then to Cassville, to make her home. She worked
in restaurants in the area and started working at Crowe's
Restaurant in 1956. She was a member of the Mill Street Church
of Christ in Cassville.
Funeral services were held Sunday in Fohn Funeral Home,
Cassville. Burial was in Horner Cemetery, Cassville. Chris
McCurley and Gene Coones conducted the services. Contributions
may be made to Mill Street Church of Christ Helping Hands in her
memory.
