COLLINS

Mr. Frank Pownall Collins, 91, 1323 Circle Drive, died Tuesday at his residence.

Services will be 10 am Thursday at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Thomas P. Eggebeen officiating.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Mausoleum, Tulsa.

Casket bearers will be Owen Hill, Kenneth Pogue, Harold Hindered, Kenneth Cook, Eugene Haege and B. F. Wooden.

He was the son of William Parker Collins and Laura Ann Bird Collins of Thayer, Kan. He was born April 7, 1896, in Kansas. He was preceded in death by his sister Minnie Doreas Collins, in 1982.

Mr. Collins graduated from Thayer High School. He served in the armed services in Europe.

He joined his half-brother, George Fulton Collins Sr., in the glass business. He was superintendent of the George F. Collins Glass Company in Poteau until the plant was taken over by Liberty Glass Company.

Mr. Collins was manager of Liberty Glass Company from 1923 until his retirement in 1963. He had served on the Liberty Glass Company Board as Vice President, as well as serving as a consultant after his retirement.

He worked in the glass company with his brother and his nephew the late George Fulton Collins Jr., for 65 years.

In 1930, he married Katherinne Brock. She died in 1975. Together, they enjoyed gardening and traveling, and visited more than 150 countries. Mr. Collins recorded his trips with a camera, one of hobbies.

Mr. Collins also served on the board of the Sapulpa Public Library and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

He also was a member of the American Legion Post 36, Free Masons, Cedar Lodge 103 of Chanute, Kan., and a 32nd degree Masons of the Scottish Rite, Fort Scott, Kan.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
