COONCE, RAY W.    17 November 1921 - 24 April 1999

RAY WILBUR COONCE, 77, of Modesto, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Coonce was a native of Bristow, Oklahoma. He had lived in Modesto since 1983. He had retired after a 15-year career as a heavy equipment operator for E. L. Yeager Construction, and was a member of the Operation Engineers Local in Pasadena.

He is suvived by his children, Wilbert Coonce of Phelan, Lois Pahia of Alta Loma, Glenda Coonce of Modesto, Randy Coonce of Ceres and David Vernon of Fresno; brothers, Harrell Coonce of Ceres, Orville Coonce of Modesto and Martin Coonce of Delhi; sisters, Lenora Dayton, Lorene McMillen and Florene Busby, all of Modesto; and 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held on April 28th, 1999, at Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, and burial was at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella, California.
