Phillip Joseph Cornelius, 47, Kellyville, died in a plane crash May 29, 1995 near Moriarity, NM.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Kellyville. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, directed by Smith Funeral Home.

He was born March 7, 1948 in Sapulpa.

He married Connie Davis on May 21, 1977 in Novato, CA.

He graduated from Kellyville High School in 1966 and from Oklahoma State University in 1970. He was a captain for U.S. Air. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as a search and rescue pilot. He was a member of the Long-EZ Club. He helped start the Sapulpa Christian School and was on the school board.

Survivors include his wife, Connie, of the home; his mother, Dorothy Romine Cornelius, Sapulpa; a daughter, Julie Cornelius, of the home; and two brothers, Randall Cornelius, Kellyville, and Tony Cornelius, Sapulpa.

Services for Phillip Joseph Cornelius will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church in Kellyville with the Rev. Danny Frazee officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

Casket bearers will be Gene Campbell, Charles “Skip” Carlton, James Cochran, Irv “Bing” Forbing, Les Gregg, Frank Leech, Ed Madoni and Sam Thomas.

The family asks that friends who wish to make donations to the Sapulpa Christian School. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
