Fred Leroy Covey Sr., 56, died Monday in Bristow.

Services were held at 10 am Thursday in the Manger Baptist Church in
Jenks.

Burial followed in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens in Broken Arrow under the direction of Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home.ss

Covey was born May 27, 1937 in Jenks and lived in Jenks most of his life. He graduated from Jenks High School in 1957 and served in the U. S. Army from October 1961 until May 1963 with the Golden Dragons unit of the 1st Battle Group, 14th Infantry in Hawaii. He was a member of the Manger Baptist Church in Jenks and was employed by Rockwell International as a machinist and moved to Bristow 16 years ago.

He is survived by sons Fred Leroy Covey Jr. and David Wayne Covey, both of Bristow; brothers Jack Covey of Tulsa, Lewis Covey, J.M. Covey, Leon Covey, Leonard Covey, all of Jenks; sisters Alice Clubd of Coweta, Dorris Nooner and Irene Smithey, both of Jenks, Darlene Lynn of Hectorville, Bonnie Pridemore of Tulsa and Sandy Uhlman of Glenpool and one granddaughter.
