Clarence Earl Cowan, 74, Adair, died Monday at his home on Lake Hudson.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Thursday at the First Christian Church of Langley with Rev. Jim Rutherford officiating.

Interment and military rites will be held at 2 pm Thursday at the Green Hill Cemetery in Sapulpa under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Service of Langley.

Cowan was born in Kiefer to Michael B. and Josie (Ferrell) Cowan on Nov 9, 1919. He was a retired sergeant first class from the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He retired in 1968. He married Patricia Hoffman in 1946 in Sapulpa and ran the shop at Sears in Sapulpa after retirement from the Army. They moved to Lake Hudson 18 years ago.

Survivors include wife Pat of the home; son Charles M. Elliott of Portland, Ore.; daughter Karen McManuels of Harrisburg, Pa.; brother Leonard Cowan of Chouteau; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son Ronald Earl Cowan and six brothers.
