Joseph Jackson Darnell, 82, Bristow, died Sunday in Greer County.
Funeral services were scheduled for today at 3 pm at the First Free Will Baptist
Church in Bristow with Orvel L. Thompson of Tulsa officiating.
Burial followed at the Joe Darnell farm south of Bristow under the direction of
Schumacher Funeral Home of Bristow.
He was born May 25, 1910, in Guadalupe County, New Mexico. A long time Bristow
area resident, he moved from New Mexico in 1935. He was a self-employed rancher
and interior decorator. Darnell was also a former member of Odd Fellows and a
member of the National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Darnell, in 1979.
Survivors include son, Mitchell of Altus; daughters, Karen Renee Darnell of
Bristow, Ana Vera Lee of Little rock, Ark.; brother, J. L. Darnell of Bristow;
sister, Josephine Parent of Little Rock, Ark.; ten grandchildren and 4
great-grandchildren.
