WELLSTON, Okla. — Mr. Orvin Dean, 87, Oklahoma City, died Tuesday in an Oklahoma City hospital.

Services were Thursday at the first Baptist Church, Wellston, with the Revs. Don Balis and Bruce Sanders officiating.

Burial was at Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Curry-Parks funeral Home, Chandler, Okla.

Mr. Dean was a Wellston resident before moving to Oklahoma City. He was a veteran of World War I and member of the Southside Church of the Nazarene in Oklahoma City and the American Legion of Wellston.

He also was a retired railroad employee.

Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie, in 1985, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include son John Orvin of Tulsa; daughters Thelma L. Boots of Pasadena, Texas, and Vera m. Wright and Virginia D. Saulman, both of Ventura, Calif.; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
