BRISTOW — George H. Denham, 73, of Bristow, died Tuesday at Rainbow Nursing
Home in Bristow.
Services will be 10 am Friday at First Christian Church, Bristow, with Tom
Hopkins and Nolan Thomas officiating.
Burial will be at South Heights
Cemetery, Sapulpa, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Denham was born Dec 12, 1917, in Lapwai, Idaho, and was an area resident
most of his life. He married Charlotte Lewers March 24, 1936, in Pawhuska.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the V.F.W.
He was a rancher, oilman, and a member of First Christian Church, Bristow, the
Bristow and Sapulpa Round-Up clubs and a lifetime member of the Kellyville
Round-Up Club.
Survivors include wife, Charlotte; son George A. Denham of Norman; daughters
Sandra Denham and Marilyn Lowry, both of Bristow; sisters Mary Jane McPherson of
Farmington, New Mexico and Ellen Cash of Grangeville, Idaho; half-sister Alice
Niles of Perkins; and half-brother Melvin Newby of Portland, Ore.
The body will lie in state until 8:30 a.m. Friday at Smith funeral Home and the
casket will not be opened at the service.

Funeral services for George H. Denham were held today at the First Christian
Church in Bristow with Tom Hopkins and Nolan Thomas officiating.
Burial followed in South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral
Home.
Mr. Denham, a longtime resident of the area, died Tuesday in Bristow following
an extended illness.
Casketbearers were Jim McReynolds Jr., Sam McReynolds, Raymond Campbell, Marty
Varner, Jack Kirk and Frank Turinsky.
Honorary bearers were Paul Fleming, Elsworth Harrison, Buck Hupman, Dutch
Brashears and John Marz.
