Guy V. Dodson, 93, of Sapulpa, died Thursday in Doctor's Hospital in Tulsa.

Services are to be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kellyville First Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Bateman and Rev. David Houchin officiating.

Burial is to following the Kellyville Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Dodson was born Nov. 17, 1900 in Fayette County, Ala and was a Sapulpa-Kellyville resident since 1913. He was a farmer and operated a grocery store in Kellyville and retired as a foreman from Petroleum Contractors where he was recognized as an expert in the treatment and recovery of residual pipeline oil. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and was active in the Sapulpa Senior citizens. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl in 1954 and sons Gerald and Victor.

He is survived by sons Tom of Chico, Calif., and Charles of Sapulpa; daughters Dixie Dodson of Tulsa, Kay Smith and Linda Eakes, both of Tulsa and Jean Richardson of Sonoma, Calif.; brother George Dodson of Benicia, Calif.; sister Henrietta Page of Lubbock, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at the Charles Dodson residence at 1127 Burroughs Road. Memorials may be made to the Sapulpa Senior citizen's recreational fund.

A funeral service for Guy V. Dodson was held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church in Kellyville with the Revs. Rick Bateman and David Houchin officiating.

Burial is in the Kellyville Cemetery. Serving as casketbearers were: Brian Dodson, Bradley Dodson, David Dodson, Patrick Johnson, Greg Richardson and Justin Eakes, all grandsons to Dodson. 

Dodson, a Sapulpa and Kellyville resident since 913, died Thursday in Tulsa.

Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
