JAMES DYER
BROKEN ARROW — James A. (Jim) Dyer, 78, of Broken Arrow died Saturday at Saint
John Medical Center in Tulsa.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Onets Road Baptist Church
with the Rev. Berry Clark officiating.
Burial will follow at South Heights
Cemetery, Sapulpa, under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home of Broken
Arrow.
Mr. Dyer was born Dec. 23, 1912, in Des Monies, Iowa. He married Edna Roach in
December 1935 at Mt Pleasant, Texas.
Mr. Dyer moved to Tulsa in 1939, and retired from Sun Oil Company in 1977 after
40 years of service. He was a member of Oneata Road Baptist Church. He like
animals, flowers and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, in 1985. Mr. Dyer moved to Broken
Arrow following her death. His sister, Martha Blankenship, preceded him in death
in 1990.
Survivors include daughters Patsy Ford of Tulsa and Jimmie Lou Tarpley of
Mannford; son Rick Dyer of Broken Arrow; brother Robert M. Dyer of Tulsa; six
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
