Clifford Epperly, age 84, of Inola, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004
at Rolling Hills Care Center in Catoosa. His last days were
blessed with loving care from his family and New Frontier
Hospice.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct.
15, 2004 at Calvary Baptist Church in Inola with the Rev. Thomas
Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in
Inola. Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa will be in charge of
arrangements.
He was born Dec. 29, 1919 in Latimer
County to Casabianca and Sarah Irene (Wasson) Epperly. He
married Mildred Ruth Lasater Oct. 30, 1943 in Tulsa. They were
married almost 52 years when she passed away in January 1995.
Both were baptized together in 1994 at Calvary Baptist. Church
in Inola.
He was a retired gas station and garage
owner on old Highway 33 north of Inola for more than 40 years.
Cliff and Mildred moved from Turley to
Inola in 1961. He had been a member of the Turley Round-up Club
where he served as arena director and parade marshal. He worked
at Spartan Aircraft Company in the 1950s in the mobile trailer
division. He was a member of the American Legion in Claremore
and volunteered for many activities in Inola. He was an avid
fisherman and deer hunter before his illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents;
brothers George, William, Lloyd, Charlie Sherman and Junior;
sisters Fannie and Melba; wife Mildred; and son-in-law Sam
Barrett.
Survivors are his daughter Barbara Barrett, of Mounds: grandsons
Duke Barrett and wife Jeannie and their children Jenaya,
Samantha and Amanda, Marty Barrett and wife Leslie and their
children Lauren, Marty Jr. and Scott Barrett, all of Mounds;
sisters Anna Anderson, of Barstow, Calif., and Oleta Guthrie, of
Los Molinas, Calif.; brother Richard "Doc" Epperly and wife
Maxine, of Wagoner; nephew Gary Epperly and wife Debbie and
their children Jamie, Britney and Bridget, of Inola; prayer
partner Dale Newman and wife Jo Ellen, of Mounds; and many
nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pall bearers will be Bob Moutry, Joe
Kennedy, Harry Rogers, Bob Turner, Denny Merryman and Jesse
Merryman. i Honorary pall bearers are Gene.) Stout, Herb Cole,
Harold Osburn, Joseph Wasson, Dale ; Newman and Doc Epperly.
The family has entrusted the) services to the directors at Green
Hill Funeral Home.
