James H. (Jim) Evans, 79, 1511 S. Park, died Saturday at Tulsa Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday at lee and Walnut Church of Christ with Rev. Howard Horton officiating.

Burial will follow at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans was born May 23, 1912, in Clarita, Okla. He moved to Sapulpa in 1976 from Brozton, where he retired as superintendent of schools after 40 years of teaching. He attended East Central University, Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma. He was an elder of the Lee and Walnut church of Christ.

Mr. Evans had preached in Churches of Christ in many towns throughout Oklahoma. He was an avid woodworker who made many items and gave them to his friends.

Survivors include sons James H. Evans Jr. of Claremore, William Daive Evans of Waynoka and Alan Evans of Parsons, Kans.; daughters Particia Ann Keesee of Silver City, N. M., Frances Elizabeth Farley of Duncan and Mary H. Simmons of Metairie, La.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for James (Jim) Evans were held today at the Lee and Walnut Church of Christ with Howard Horton officiating.

Burial followed in South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Casketbearers were grandsons Mark Dawson, Bruce Dawson, Bill Farley, David Evans, Chris Evans and Aaron Evans.

The honorary casketbearers was Micah Evans.

Mr. Evans died Saturday at Tulsa Regional Medical Center.
