James R. Fant, 70, of Linden passed away on Tuesday, May 12
in Atlanta. Services are being held Saturday, May 16 at 2:30
p.m. at the Salem Baptist Church with Pastor W.A. Washington
officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery under the
direction of Reeder-Davis-Schindler Funeral Home in Linden.
Mr. Fant was born July 13, 1938 in Oilton, Okla., to Frank and
Stella Narramore Fant. He was a retired machinist at Red River
Army Depot, owned a welding shop in Linden, served in the U.S.
Army, and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving friend, Linda Sue Epps of
Linden; four sons, Kortney Jackson Fant of Linden, Frank Fant of
Atlanta, and Markieth Jackson and Patrick Jackson, both of
Dallas; two daughters, Demisa Phillips and husband Michael of
Linden and LaShun Davis and husband Glen of Arlington; two
sisters, Dorothy Dunkel and husband Loy of Avinger and Bobby
Woodruff and husband Guy of Sandoval, Ill.; seven grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild.
