WILLIAM E. FOSTER
JENNINGS — William Edward Foster, 58, died Friday at his residence.
Services are scheduled for 2 pm Monday at the Silver City Freewill Baptist
Church.
Burial will be at Brook Cemetery in
Silver City under the direction of Peck Funeral Home in Oilton.
He was born Aug 1?, 1930, and married Wanda Rohwer on Sept 5, 1959.
Mr. Foster had been chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association since
April 1988. He also served as chairman of the Oklahoma Indian Gaming Association
from September 1986 to December 1988, was appointed Commissioner of Gaming for
the Creek nation by Creek Nation Chief Claude Cox and confirmed to the position
in May 1984.
He served as a Creek Nation Supreme Court Judge from November 1981 through
June 1984, Oklahoma Commissioner of Labor from November 1975 to October 1979 and
was district 69 State Representative in 1972-74.
Survivors include wife Wanda; sons Eric Foster of Fort Worth, Texas, and Eddie
Foster of Sapulpa; daughter Cindy Mann of Tulsa; brother Homer Foster, and seven
grandchildren.
