Charles E. Gaston, 78, 617 E. Jackson, died Tuesday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Services will be at 10:30 am Friday at the Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. James W. Spear officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

He was a veteran of World War II and was a prisoner of war.

Mr. Gaston lived most of his life in Sapulpa and was retired from Liberty Glass. Following his retirement, he worked as a carrier for the Herald for many years.

Survivors include wife Lilly; son Bobby Gaston of Sapulpa; step-daughters Shirley Bruner of Hoopeston, Ill., Donna VanBickle of Tulsa, Florine Horton of Drumright, Bessie Groggins of Hoopeston and Connie Biggs of Sapulpa; brother Huey Gaston of Yucaipa, Calif; sister Harzel Wortman of Sapulpa; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The family will headquarter at the home of Bobby Gaston.

Services for Charles Edward Gaston will be 10:30 am Friday at the church of the Nazarene with the Rev. James A. Spear officiating.

Burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Full military rites will be held at the gravesite.

Casketbearers will be Larry Bigg, James Bowles, Paul VanVickle, Charles Wagner, Charles Lake and Alan Milton. Honorary bearers will be William Whinery Sr., Austin Bruner and Eugene VanVickle.

The family will headquarter at the home of Bobby Gaston.
