James E. Gibson, Sr., 81, Sapulpa, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 1995 in the Veterans Administration Center in Norman.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Glenn Hood officiating. Burial will be in South Heights Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home.

He was born July 29, 1914 in Hilton.

He married Ruth A. Sample.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from the Frisco Railroad. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, James E. Gibson, Jr., Sand Springs and Howard D. Gibson, Sapulpa; a daughter, Winnie C. Gibson, Sapulpa; three brothers, Ralph Gibson, Locust Grove, Jack Gibson, Sapulpa, and William Gibson, Shawnee; a sister Irene Sherrill, Sapulpa; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at 1306 E. Bryan.

Funeral services for James E. Gibson Sr. were held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. Glenn Hood officiated. Interment following in South Heights Cemetery.

Mr. Gibson, a life-long resident of Sapulpa, died Thursday in Norman. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
