L. H. Gilliland Dies Friday
Rites Monday
The Rev. Locie H. Gilliland, 72, of 1917 S. Hickory, died Friday in
Thomas, Okla., of an apparent heart attack while doing church field
work.
Born May 23, 1901, in Maple City, Kan., he moved to Sapulpa in 1945
from Fairfax. He had been associated with Sapulpa Brick and Tile Co. 20
years, had been a farmer, and was a Pentecostal Church of God minister.
He is survived by his widow Gertrude of the home; three sons, John,
southwest of Sapulpa; Gilbert, Rt. 1, Sapulpa; David, 38 W. Mary Lynn;
two daughters, Mrs. Robert Steeples, 208 S. Birch and Mrs. James
Lockridge, 24 E. Goodykoontz; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren,
and 6 brothers, Frank, Wichita, Kan.; Harold, Chetopah, Kan.; Clarence,
Wheatridge, Colo.; Clayton, Camden, Mo.; Hubert, Pelsor, Ark.; and
Donald, Fairfax.
Interment will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens under direction of
Owen Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Bill Casteel, Dick Hermes, Babe
Goad, Jim Hamlin, James Burnsworth and Bill Mulford. Honorary
pallbearers will be D.B. Jones, Austin Ford, Orie McCracken, Brooke
Thrift, Albert Foust and Archie Childs.
