Charles Gleason Dies at 53

Charles M. Gleason, 53, well known Sapulpa golfer and civil engineer, died
Saturday at Bartlett memorial Hospital. He had been in ill health for some time.
Gleason was born at Wentworth, MO, Nov 1, 1919 and lived in Sapulpa most of
his life. He was a graduate of Sapulpa High School and was in the air force
three years during World War II. He married the former Doris Cheeves of
Kellyville in 1941.
He was a semi-pro golfer, playing in numerous tournaments over the country
and was a member of Sapulpa Golf Association. He was a member of Civil Engineers
Society and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors are his wife, Doris, of the home, 800 S. Hickory; two sons, Charles
of 208 W. Gordon and Mark of the home; two grandchildren his mother Mrs. George
Gleason, 821 W. Cleveland and a brother, George Gleason of El Paso, Texas.
Conducting funeral services at 10:30 am Tuesday at Smith Funeral Chapel will
be Bishop Anthony Snow and Bishop Huntsman, assisted by Joe Campbell, Lloyd
Gambil and Don Hansen. Interment will be in Green Hill Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Drum, Roy Deason, Bill Hendley, Jack Oare, Aubrey
Fleming, Joe Campbell, Ray Nichols, Bill Bennett, F. L. Bradley and Amos Conners.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the golf association.
