Betty Jean Hale, 56, of Tulsa, died Wednesday.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 pm Monday at the Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. H. T. Busby officiating.

Hale was born Sep 14, 1936. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa and attended Langston University and Tulsa University. She married the Rev. Thomas J. Hale Jr. and assisted him as Director of Music. She was a member of the Northwest Creek Distinct State Congress, National Congress. She was predeceased by Rev. Hale and her daughter, Gladys L. Hale.

Survivors include daughters Saundra Johnson, Caryean Hale, Cherelle Hale, and Deborah Hale Davis. Surviving sons are Thomas J. Hale III, John Hale, 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
