Updated: 06 Sep 2009 Sapulpa Herald Ex-Sapulpa Resident Dies Mrs. Alma Sturgis Hamilton, 69, former Sapulpan who recently had lived at the Will Rogers Hotel in Claremore, died Saturday night at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, where she had been a patient three days. She was born Sep 5, 1903, in Nacogdoches, Tex., and moved to Kellyville in 1906. She lived in Sapulpa from 1918-1921, working here at several drug stores. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Calera, Oklahoma., and Eastern Star No. 490 there. Survivors include three sons, Donald M. Payne and Hugh M. Payne, both of Tulsa; Elmer S. Payne of Greenville, NC; five grandchildren; a brother, Earl Sturgis of Wagoner; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Zevely, Seminole and Mrs. Stella Fousel, Pleasant Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Guymon officiating. Interment will be in Floral Haven Memorial Gardens, Broken Arrow, under direction of Owen Funeral Home. |
