SAND SPRINGS - Donald Gene Hartgrave, 61, died Thursday in Oklahoma City.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Saturday at the Cathedral of Praise
in Sand Springs with Rev. Mike Buie officiating.
Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Stillwater under the direction of
Mobley-Dodson Funeral Service.
He was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Cushing to Jesse Monroe and Cora Francis (Murrell)
Hartgrave. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, receiving the National Defense
Medal during his service. Hartgrave worked for K. W. Anderson Company, Tulsa
Heat Transfer, Kentube, Inc., Rahm Fab, Inc., before joining Henry Vogt Company
in 1990. He attended the Cathedral of Praise in Sand Springs, was a member of
the American Society for Quality Control, American Welding Society, Tulsa Junior
College Welding Technology Advisory Committee and he was a Sapulpa Vo-Tech
Welding Judge.
He married Rachel Joan Courtright on Feb. 18, 1955, in Cushing. They lived in
Cushing until their move to Sand Springs in 1956.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Cora Hartgrave, two brothers,
Luther and Dolan Hartgrave, and one sister, Ruby Clemens.
Survivors include his wife, Rachel Joan; daughters, April Jaunice Hutson,
Shelley Joan Reeves and Darcy Jane Reichard, all of Sand Springs, and Donelda
Jean Blair of Sapulpa; sisters, Sylvia Roe of Muskogee, Virginia Miller of
Roswell, N.M., and Joanne Faye Little of Lufkin, Texas; brothers, J. D.
Hartgrave of Cushing, and Jesse Monroe Hartgrave, Jr., of Guthrie, and ten
grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank everyone contributing to the Don Hartgrave Transplant
Fund. Funds received will be applied to his medical expenses.
