James William (J. W. Bill) Hatfield, 76, Mounds, died Wednesday at his home.

Services are pending with Owen Funeral Home.

He was born Nov 22, 1912, in Beggs, Okla.

Mr. Hatfield lived in the area since 1946 after moving to Mounds from Pryor, Okla. He was a member of the Mounds Freewill Baptist Church. He retired in 1973 as the owner of the Sapulpa Livestock Auction. He also was and auctioneer. 

He married Lillian Ann White on May 12, 1944, in Siloam Springs, Ark.

He was preceded in death by brothers Denver Hatfield in 1988 and Leo Hatfield in 1972.

Survivors include wife Lillian of the home; son Billy L. Hatfield of Salina, Okla.; daughters Barbara G. Pittman of Miami, OK, Lou Delcour of Kellyville, and Sue Matlock of Sapulpa; sisters Mary Peterson of Victorville, Calif., Ethel Silkey of Wichita, Kan., Viola Perdue of Commerce, Okla., and 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
