Dan Shride Hawley, 70, of Sapulpa, died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Friday, at Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. William Holly officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, at Locust Grove Cemetery in Findley [Findlay], IL, with burial to follow under the direction of Howe Funeral Home.

Dan Hawley was the owner of John Long Trucking from 1968 to 1978, which began in Arizona in 1962, and expanded to Sapulpa and Oklahoma City. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Hawley and Flossie Shride, brothers Floyd and Oran K. Hawley.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Antonia Daviu; daughter, Patricia Hawley of Jenks; sisters, Maribell Hawley Virginia Gregory, both of Moweuka, Ill.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild. The body will lie in state at Howe Funeral home in Shelbyville, Ill., before the graveside services.
