Former Sapulpan Thomas (Red) Herzer, 64, of Decatur, Texas, died Saturday after an apparent heart attack in a Houston hospital.

Funeral services are 2 pm Tuesday at the Coker Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with the Rev. Roy Norie officiating. Burial will be at Prescott Cemetery, Wise County, Texas.

Mr. Herzer was born July 2, 1925, in Sapulpa. 

He was employed by Sun Gas Company for 43 years before retiring.

Survivors include wife Maxine Herzer; son Larry Creek; daughters Claudia Postalwait and Paulette Davis; sister Mary Alice Beloat; bother Johnny Herzer; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
