Gladys HOLCOMB, 84, Bristow, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995 in Okmulgee.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ, with the Rev. Derrick CARNEY officiating, assisted by Bill CONKLING. Burial will be in Beggs City Cemetery, directed by Hutchins-Maples Funral Home.
She was born April 7, 1911 in Yellville, Ark.
She married Charles HOLCOMB on July 28, 1934 in Wagoner.
She graduated high school at Newport, Ark., in 1927. She received her teaching degree at Northeastern State Teachers College in 1934. She taught in Muskogee, Slick and Creek County, and taught for more than 20 years in Bristow. She retired after 45 years of teaching.
She published a book, "Texile Painting Designs."
Survivors include her husband Charles HOLCOMB, of the home; a son, Bill HOLCOMB, Okmulgee; a daughter Kathy THOMPSON, Bristow; two sisters, Mable CLARK, Tahlequah, and Evelyn MARTIN, Edmond, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and a brother.
