Hurt, 88, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at her home in
Mannford, Okla.
She was born March 14, 1918, in Hilton, Okla., to Andrew Jackson
White and Birde Duncan-White, the second of five children.
She graduated high chool at Kiefer, Okla., and married Sydney
Ross Hurt on Jan. 27, 1940, in Sapulpa.
She spent most of her days as a mother and homemaker, but she
also worked at Bartlett-Collins Glass and at Anthony’s Clothing
Store.
Edith was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sidney, two
brothers, Raymond Cluster White and Fred Carroll White and two
sisters, Oleta Ezell and Roberta Pruitt.
Surviving her are her only child, Carroll Sidney Hurt of
Mannford, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five
great-great-grandchildren and a great many greatly loved nieces
and nephews.
Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Freedom Hill Baptist
Church in Mannford.
Burial will follow at
Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Sapulpa.
Family has suggested donations be made to the Tulsa Metro
Baptist Association, Ice Storm Victims, 3365 E. Skelly Drive,
Tulsa, OK 74135
The family has chosen to entrust the care of the services to the
directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
