O. T. Hutt Dies in New York at Daughter's Home

Orla Thomas Hutt, 75, father of Frances Hutt Dewey, wife of Gov. Thomas E. Dewey, of New York, died yesterday morning of a heart attack.  Mr. Hutt had been in failing health for several years.

Death of the slim, silver haired father of New York's first lady, a native of Sapulpa, came at the governor's mansion in Albany where Mr. & Mrs. Hutt had gone before Christmas to visit Gov. and Mrs. Dewey. Last week Mrs. Hutt had written to friends here, that they were leaving Albany within a few days for Holly, Mich. to visit their son, Dr. Harold Hutt, an Osteopathic physician there, before coming back home to Sapulpa, soon.

Mr. & Mrs. Hutt, who also celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the executive mansion in 1949. They were married at Sherman, TX in 1899. They came to Sapulpa from Sherman, TX in 1914. At that time Mr. Hutt was employed by the Frisco Railway. He was an engineer for the Frisco at the time of his retirement in 1941 after 38 years of service.

Mr. Hutt was employed by the Sherman Democrat as a printer before leaving in 1900. He worked as a printer in San Antonio three years, then joined the railroad in 1903.

Although Mr. & Mrs. Hutt became national figures through the prominence of their daughter and son-in-law, they continued life in <continued page 2> [note: there was no other information submitted]
