Bertna May Jackson, born May 25, 1905 in Ashland KY, came to
OK at the age of 5, settling in Kellyville with her parents. In
1924 she was the first graduate of Kellyville High School, later
resided in Okmulgee OK until the death of her husband, Elmer
Nelson Escue.
After a second marriage, she moved to
Sapulpa . She lived there until 1946, and moved to
Norman to keep house for her older son, a student at the
university. 1949 she moved to OKC and lived in the Heritage Park
area until her unexpected death.
She passed away Thursday at St.
Anthony Hospital.
Survivors: sons, Nelson B. Escue of San Diego,
Gary Z. Jackson of OKC;, Micheline, Cassandra, Penelope and
Merrili Escue, and Rachel Jackson; grandsons, Jeffrey, Matthew,
and Montgomery Escue, also Bradford Jackson; 1
great-granddaughter.
