E. A. Jackson, 74, of Bristow, died Friday at Bristow.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Tuesday, at First Baptist Church,
Bristow, with Rev. Bill Liggett officiating.
Burial will follow at Bristow City Cemetery under the direction of Schumacher
Funeral Home.
He was born July 28, 1918, in Claremore. A long time Bristow resident, Mr.
Jackson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Imogene Fern
Lester on April 23, 1955, in Bristow. He was employed as a lake patrolman for
the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for 20 years until his retirement in 1984. He was
the first lake patrolman on Keystone Lake.
Jackson was a member of the Retired Troopers Association and the American
Legion.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry, and a brother, Little Jay.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene; sons, Kenneth and Bernie Jay, both of Ponca
City, and Ewing Roy of California; daughters, Joyce Ney of Owasso and Beth
Wilson of Stroud; brothers, Wallace, Bill and Stoney Jackson, all of California,
and Curtis Jackson of Florida; sisters, Jessie Hughes, Pauline Urone and Ollie
Armstrong, all of California, Joanna York of Oklahoma City an Julia Adams of
Utah; and fourteen grandchildren.
