Updated: 06 Sep 2009 JAMES, Kendred Kendred James, 72, 7 E. Woodland Road, died Thursday at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa, following an extended illness. Services will be 10 am Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Connell Ghormley and Gerald Byrd officiating. Burial will be at South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be grandsons and nephews, Scott Adams, Brett Adams, Randy Tuttle, Andy Tuttle, Kevin Myers and Bill Bowen. He was born March 8, 1917, in Hillsburg, Texas, and lived in Sapulpa most of his life. Mr. James worked for Sun Oil Company for 38 years and retired in 1978. Since his retirement, he returned to Sun Oil as a consultant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and married Truley Mae BOWEN on May 28, 1939, in Sapulpa. Survivors include wife Truley Mae of the home; son Leroy James of Sapulpa; daughters Jeanne ADAMS and Carol TUTTLE, both of Sapulpa; brothers Frankie James and George James, both of Sapulpa; sister Mona KATOPODIS of Tulsa; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. |
