The funeral for Ernest Edward Jones, 68, 1213 N. Moccasin, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Smith Funeral Chapel. He died Friday at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa.

Burial will be at Green Hills Mausoleum, with the Veterans of Foreign Wars chaplain officiating. Arrangements are by Smith.

Jones was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Sapulpa, was a graduate of Sapulpa High School and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Marine Corps.

He worked as a pipefitter and welder in California for 43 years before returning to Sapulpa in 1989. He was a member of the VFW, the moose Lodge and Pipefitters Local No. 250.
On Oct. 25, 1946, he married Mary Drewry in Independence, Kan.

She survives him. Other survivors include a daughter, Janna McCullum, Sapulpa, and three brothers: Walter, Sapulpa; Milton, Bartlesville and Jack, East Helena, Mont.

Funeral services for Ernest E. Jones were to be held today at 2 p.m. in the Smith Funeral home Chapel with Leonard Rivett and Charles Rivett officiating.

Entombment was to follow in the Green Hills Mausoleum under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casketbearers were Leon Shadowens, James Seymour, Roy Wagaman, Norman Craite, J.W. Knight and Bucky Gable. All are members of the Sapulpa Veterans Organizations.

Jones, a Sapulpa residence since 1989, died Friday a the St. Francis Hospital.
