OKLAHOMA CITY - Memorial services for Dr. Johnnie I. Jones, 38, of Oklahoma City, will be held at 3
pm Wednesday at
Putnam City Baptist Church.
Dr. Jones died Thursday in Hawaii. He was born in Stroud and attended Kellyville School for several years. He
graduated from Chandler High School in 1967 and then served in the U.S. Army.
A 1973 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a bachelor of science degree in premed, he received his medical
degree in 1979 from the University of Oklahoma and served a residency in pathology. He was being board certified in
emergency medicine at the time of his death. Dr. Jones was a full-time emergency physician at Mercy Health Center and
Edmond Memorial Hospital and held a teaching position at Oklahoma Memorial Hospital Trauma Center. He was a member of
Putnam City Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cami; a daughter, Julienne Laine; mother, Bulah Mae Phillips of Chandler, Okla.; father,
Bert R. Jones of Sioux Falls, SD; sisters, Ginger Tytenicz of Oklahoma City, Jeanie Christian of Shawnee, Okla., and
Sherry Ashcraft of Chandler; grandfather, Lester Jones of Bristow; numerous other Sapulpa and Bristow area relatives.
The family will be headquartered at the home of Ginger Tytenicz in Oklahoma City.
