John W. Jowers, 76, Tulsa, died Tuesday at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa.

Services will be 10:30 am Friday at Green Hill Memorial Gardens Chapel under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Green Hill Memorial Gardens.

He was born Jan 27, 1913, in Memphis, Tenn. He lived in Tulsa for the past 50 years, moving there from Sapulpa.

Mr. Jowers served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He retired in 1983 as an accountant and office manager for the Oklahoma Tax Commission, Texaco and Allied Steel in Tulsa.

He was affiliated with the Baptist church and was a member of the Tulsa Masonic Lodge, Tulsa Shriners Temple and Tulsa Country Club. He was a golf enthusiast.

Survivors include sisters Mary Cowman of Tulsa and Freda Babb of Sapulpa.

The family will headquarter at the Freda Babb home, 15 S. Birch.
