The funeral will be held March 23 for Madeline L. Juarez of Vida, who died March 14 of age-related causes. She was 82. Juarez was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Oilton, Okla., to Georgia Caraway.

She worked as a psychiatric technician with autistic adults and children for 20 years. She enjoyed collecting antiques. She will be remembered for her strength of spirit, compassion and intuition.

Survivors include her life partner of 25 years, Albert Juarez; a son, David Anderson of Vida; a daughter, Joanie Breen of Eugene; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Thursday's service will be held at 11 am at Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield. Burial will follow at noon at Springfield Memorial Gardens.
