Hollis Kerley, 75, Bristow, died Friday, July 7, 1995 at his home.
Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Freedom Hills Baptist Church
in Bristow with the Rev. Jim Peter officiating. Burial will be at Kellyville
City Cemetery, directed by Hutchins-Maples Funeral Home.
He was born June 20, 1920 in Creek County to William Robert and Minnie
Juba Britt.
He married his second wife, Barbara Nickels, in Mannford on Oct. 12,
1990.
He attended Creek County schools. He was in Civilian Conservation Corps
camp for agriculture and welding. He entered the Army in 1942 and was
discharged in 1945. He worked for 10 years for Eureka tools and for
26 years for Fansco as a pipefitter and welder. He retired in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; three daughters,
Rose Helton, Welty, Cathy Honeycutt, Fruitland, MD, and Holly Gann,
Bristow; two sons, Ronnie Creager, Midwest City, and Tommy Creager,
Kansas City, MO; two brothers, Auther Kerley and Luther Kerley, both
of Kellyville; two sisters, Mattie Degraffenreed, Kellyville, and Margaret
Barnes, Sapulpa; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and by a son, Claud A.
Kerley.
