Lee Roy Kirk passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at the age of 77.
He was born to Clifford and Pearl Kirk on March 25, 1924 in Prue.
On July 23, 1942, Lee began an active in the Army. He served as a military policeman with special qualifications as a rifle marksman. Lee also was awarded the World War II Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, EAME Theater Ribbon, two Bronze Service Stars and AP Theater Ribbon.
In 1966, Lee married Betty Lou Fox in Stigler. When they were younger they enjoyed fishing and dancing together. At one time during his later life, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Lee retired after working 30 years as an engineer for the state highway department
Lee was preceded in death by both of his parents. > He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou of the home; his children, Rhonda Bachman of Oklahoma City, Robin Coleman and Shelly Shell, both of Hartford City, Ind. and Donna Hinebrink of Tallahany; his stepchildren, Jerry Jackson of Kellyville, Danny Jackson and Sherri Beaver, both of Sapulpa; four sisters, Eva Welker, Dorothy Goodrich, Jewell Byrd and Jean Kern; two brothers, Gary Kirk and his wife, Jane, and Ethan Kirk and his wife, Kathy; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Larry Warnock officiating. Burial will follow at
Green Hill Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Gethsemane.
The family has chosen to entrust the care of the services to the directors at Green Hill Funeral Home.
