Virgil Reece Klaus, 87, Sapulpa, died Saturday at St. John's Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Daniel Koehane officiating. Rosary is scheduled for 7 pm Monday in the Sacred Heart Chapel.

Burial is scheduled to follow services in Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

Klaus was born Oct 12, 1905 in Kansas to Wendell and Mary Thompson Klaus. He was married Aug 14, 1929 in Sapulpa to Mildred Pattison. He was preceded in death by Mildred who died in December 19, 1992.

He was self-employed from 1929 as a painter and paper hanger. He was a Sapulpa resident since 1975, having come from Tulsa. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family will headquarter at the Klaus home in rural Sapulpa.

Survivors include sons Lloyd W. Klaus of Miami, OK, Virgil Ralph Klaus of Sapulpa, Mitchell Dean Klaus of San Carlos, CA; daughter Velma Sexton of Vallejo, CA, 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
