JAMES D. LACKEY

KIEFER — James D. "Jay" Lackey, 73, died Wednesday at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center.

Services are scheduled for 2 pm Friday at Owen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating.

Burial will be in South Heights Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Leon Barnhart, Bernard Barnhart, Milton Masters, Bob Stice, Delbert Ray and Bob Morrow.

Mr. Lackey was born Feb 11, 1916, in Calico Rock, Ark. He moved to Kiefer in 1919.

He married Goldie Roberts Aug 1, 1934, in Claremore.

He was a self-employed welder and the owner of Jay’s Café in Kiefer.

Mr. Lackey was a Methodist and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Kiefer. He was also a 32nd degree Mason in the Tulsa Lodge.

Survivors include wife Goldie; son James D. Lackey III of Kiefer; daughter Emma Boyd of Kiefer; sisters Robbie Love of and Georgia Carter both of Oklahoma City, and Florence LeFlore of Ardmore; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will headquarter at the Lackey home at 6 W. Broadway in Kiefer.
