The girl, Tesla Lane, was pronounced dead about 7 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Medical Center, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Police Sgt. Mitch Criner said the medical examiner had not ruled on the cause of death...

The toddler was brought to the hospital at 9:45 p.m. Monday by her mother and underwent surgery for abdominal problems, he said.
