Odis A. Long Of Kellyville Dies Thursday
Odis A. Long, 72, Kellyville, died at his home Thursday evening. Long
was born Aug 8, 1900, in Crocker, Mo., and came to Kellyville with his
parents when he was 13 years old.
He was a retired pumper for the L.B. Jackson Co., retiring in 1971
with 34 years of service. Long was a member of the Free Pentecostal
church, Kellyville.
Survivors are his widow, Mary Ellen, of the home; one son, Odis L.
Long, Tulsa; four daughters, Mrs. Marie Birdsong, Mounds; Mrs. Delores
Fern Fletcher, 920 W. Teel Rd., Mrs. Patsy Atkins and Mrs. Margaret
Gray, Westland Acres, Sapulpa; four brothers, Herbert Long, Allen,
Okla.; Eldie Long, Kellyville, Rollie Long, Kellyville and Delbert Long,
Sapulpa; seven sisters, Mrs. Annie Lucas, Mrs. Velma Ackerman, Mrs. Zeda
Smith, Mrs. Evelyn Boren and Mrs. Nadie Hughes, all of Sapulpa, Mrs.
Dorothy Smith, Arcata, Calif.; and Mrs. Rosiene Jordan, San Jose,
Calif.; 15 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday in the South Heights
Baptist Church with Rev. Francis Boyer, Depew, officiating, assisted by
Rev. Millard McGuire.
Pallbearers will be Chester Guest, John Romine, Junior Banks, Chink
Gowdy, Avery Kelly, and Orville Canfield.
Interment will be in South Heights Cemetery under the direction of
Owen Funeral Home.
