NOWATA — Goldie Olive Loyd, 91, of Nowata, died Friday at Osage Nursing Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday at Benjamin Funeral Chapel in Nowata with the Revs. Bill Bush and Arthur Stookey officiating.

Burial will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born August 6, 1899, in Rome, Mo., and moved to Alluwe at age 2 ½. She later moved to the Childers area, where she attended school. She married Joseph Franklin Loyd June 6, 1919, in Nowata, and the couple lived in several towns in northeastern Oklahoma and also at Augusta, Kan. She returned to the Nowata area in 1969.

She was employed for two years as a cook for the Harold Straight family and was a member of First Baptist Church of Nowata.

Mrs. Loyd was preceded in death by her husband Aug 20, 1969, four grandchildren, brother Raymond N. Willis and sister Gladys White.

Survivors include sons Alvin Loyd of Bartlesville and Earl Loyd of Vinita; daughters Gertrude Blose of Sapulpa, Wyvon Drake of Galesburg, Kan., Edna Hatcher of Nowata; brother Guy Willis of Nowata; 21 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
