June 29, 1920Oilton Boy Kills
Brother With Gun He Thought Empty
OILTON, June 28.-(Special)—An "empty gun"
was responsible for the death of Fred McCord, 11 year old, son
of Mr. and Mrs. L. T. McCord of this city, at a hospital at Yale
this morning.
The boy and his brother Delbert had been
playing with an old revolver for several days, repeatedly
snapping it at each other, as it was supposed the gun was not
loaded. Sunday evening, as Delbert snapped the gun at his
brother a shell exploded sending the bullet, through the boy's
intestines. He was rushed to Yale, but physicians could do
nothing.
Burial
was made here this afternoon.
