WILSON -- Services for Hazel E. Meyer, 94, will be at 1 pm today, April 23, 2001, at First United Methodist Church in Wilson with the Rev. Kay Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Ardmore.

Mrs. Meyer was born Feb 9, 1907, at Blue, Okla., to Alfred S. and Mary Katherine Shaddox Wheeler. She died April 20, 2001, in Ardmore.

Mrs. Meyer grew up in southeastern Oklahoma and graduated from Boswell High School in 1924. The family moved to Mounds, Okla., in 1926 and she met and married Edward A. Meyer on April 12 1927, at Okmulgee. They moved to Hominy, where he worked for Conoco Oil Company, then to Fairfax, Blackwell, to Edmond in 1944, then to Wilson in 1950. They joined the United Methodist Church in Wilson that year. She served as president of the Ardmore District of United Methodist Women four terms and was local president many years. She joined Eastern Star in 1945 while in Edmond and served as Worthy Matron four terms, Royal Matron of Court 34 of the Amaranth, Ardmore, three terms, and received her 50-year pin in addition to other awards during her long tenure.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug 15, 1996; her parents; four sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors include a son, James O. Meyer; a daughter, Wilma J. Miller and son-in-law, Bill Miller, all of the home in Wilson; a granddaughter, Deborah A. Polios, and grandson-in-law, Bill Polios of Las Vegas.

Bearers will be Jerry Mashore, Jack Richardson, Charlie Parrish, Gene Griffin, Bob Wilson and Wayne Russell.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 235, Wilson, OK 73463.

Alexander Funeral Home will direct services.
