Harry S. Oakes, 50, Tulsa, died Thursday at the Convalescent Center of Tulsa.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11 am Saturday at Smith Funeral Chapel with
the Revs. Daniel Keohane and Jim Alpine officiating.
Burial will follow in South Heights
Cemetery.
Mr. Oakes was born Feb. 8, 1940, in Sapulpa. He was a member of the Catholic
church, and was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Betty Oakes.
Survivors include brothers Joe and John Ed Sherwood, both of Sapulpa; Clyde
Oakes of Ukiah, Calif., Ronald Oakes of San Diego, Calif., and Gene Oakes of
Kerrville, Tex.; and sisters Mildred Croston of Tulsa and Alice Styles of
Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests donations to the Parents and
Friends Workshop in Sapulpa.

Services for John Martin Oakes were today at First Presbyterian Church with the
Rev. Dr. Thomas Eggebeen officiating.
Burial was at South Heights Cemetery
under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.
Casket bearers were Dub Smith, Paul Beck, Ray Perkins, Darrell Langford, Rusty
Stamps, and Gene Oakes.
Mr. Oakes, a long time resident of the Sapulpa area, died Tuesday following a
brief illness.
