ALBA, Mo. - Betty Jean Ogden, 69, Alba, died at 3:47 am Friday, May 22, 1998, at McCune-Brooks Hospital, Carthage, after a short illness.

Mrs. Ogden was born Aug 25, 1928, at Depew, Okla. She had lived in the Alba area 40 years, moving from the state of Oklahoma. She was a cook at McCune-Brooks Hospital, retiring in 1992.

She was a member of Elm Road Church of Christ, Carthage.

She married Howard "Jake'' Ogden on Oct 19, 1946, at Independence, Kan. He survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Larry Ogden, Alba, David Ogden, Springfield, and Terry Ogden, Carthage; a brother, E. L. "Slim'' Lawson, Carthage; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Elm Road Church of Christ. Jim Poland, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Monday at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage.
