James Franklin Oliver, 61, of Tulsa and formerly of Kiefer, died Tuesday in a Tulsa hospital.

No services are planned. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va., with arrangements by Stanley Funeral Home of Tulsa.

Mr. Oliver was born July 8, 1926, in Chelsea, Okla. He attended Kiefer schools and was a retired sergeant major with the regular Army, infantry. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and retired after 28 years service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Bessie (Buffington) Oliver, and a sister, Geraldine Hampshire.

Survivors include friend Bettye Fox of Tulsa; brothers and sisters Joe of El Dorado, Kan., Gwenth Pope of Nocona, Texas, and Daniel C. Oliver Jr. of Palm Springs, Calif; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Neighbor for Neighbor of Tulsa.
