Jeanne L. Owens was born May 16, 1922 in Boynton, Oklahoma to Lucien B. and Mamie (Jones) Maxwell. Jeanne grew up in the Bristow and Depew area where she was educated.

She graduated from Bristow High School with the class of 1940. Jeanne was married to John Lee Owens on February 18, 1944 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. They lived in Sapulpa for several years before moving to Muskogee where they made their home since. After her children were out of the home, Mrs. Owens worked during the late 1970's as a housemother at the Taft Children's Home.

Jeanne died Saturday, May 27, 2006 in Muskogee at the age of 84.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Lee Owens; her parents; one sister, Bertha Powell and one brother, Darrell Maxwell. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Cora Owens of Park Hill, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Janna and Ron Geminn of Muskogee; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Jeanne Owens of Muskogee; grandchildren, Kendal Geminn, Leslie Geminn, Kara Owens, Heather Owens, Sky Owens and Suzannah Owens.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Fosters' Ivory Chapel with Mr. Steve Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Chapman, Sky Owens, Ron Geminn and Rick Tackett.

Funeral services are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
